Murad is 22 en woont in Dharavi, een sloppenwijk in Mumbai. Zijn armlastige moslimfamilie worstelt om zijn hbo-opleiding te betalen, zodat hij later een kantoorbaan kan bemachtigen. Zijn vader, een ongeschoolde chauffeur, heeft zojuist een tweede vrouw bij hen thuisgebracht, wat de spanningen in dit vijfpersoons huishouden niet echt vermindert.
